Big news!
We are adding Sun Ovens to our line of disaster preparedness items. Click on the link to learn more about them. This is an AMAZING alternative cooking source! Works well regardless of ambient temperature, even on cloudy days! If anyone is interested in these, we are getting together a large group-buy and are simply passing along the savings. They retail for $299 plus $29.85 shipping. $330 for all practical purposes. With this one-time buy, we can get them shipped to your door for $249! If you're interested, please call us at 866-886-8753 NO LATER than the 30th of this month. If you call me on the 31st, it will be too late because the order will go in on the 31st!
I hate to sound like a used-car salesman, but I'm really excited about this! We won't be able to offer this again. Let anyone know that you think may be interested. This is a wonderful tool to have, they're convenient, easy and lightweight. They're great for camping, picnics, power outages, or just for the fun of cooking outside. Too hot in the kitchen to cook?...this is your answer! These make great gifts and Christmas is right around the corner!
More importantly, we are expecting turbulent times in the near future with the possibility of having utilities disrupted for an undetermined amount of time. The Sun Oven is a needed item you don't want to leave out of your preparedness arsenal.
BE READY!

Grazing Elk
This is a small herd of grazing elk at Luna Lake. There are hundreds of elk around here. This time of year we can hear them bugling in the evenings and early mornings, a very neat sound.

The weather is changing, think of your animals and their comfort and safety. We've been doing things around here to make sure the animals are comfortable and safe for the coming winter. Today we started a pen for our billy goat, it will be completed tomorrow. He'll have a new place to run and also a nice place to get out of the wind, rain and snow.

I will share recipes from a variety of sources, recipes that I have tried, ones that I might try, ones I will never attempt to try, and ones that if nothing else, are for a good laugh. My sources for recipes are family, friends and cookbooks dated as old as the 1800s to recent. Recipes are not the only things that I will be sharing here, I'll share pictures, stories, book reviews, poetry, gardening ideas and how it is to live way out here. If any of you have ideas, suggestions, recipes or something you'd like me to share here I can be contacted by email at amywayouthere@gmail.com if I like what you send me I'll post it here.
